Baba Dogo United FC is a community based football club in Baba Dogo area, in Nairobi City. It was founded in May of 1996, when young athletes; the promising U14 talents in football, were brought together into an All stars team. The intention by then was to have an existing best of the best team, that would represent the community in all inter-community tournaments within Nairobi and competitively participate in the by then Kenya Football Federation Nairobi branch league. The Club's most notable and glorious moments and periods were the years between 2002 and 2005. During this years, the Club managed to produce those who are today playing in the top flight football leagues in Kenya; five of them having earned caps with the Kenya National Soccer Team. The Club also produced those who are now established executives, project managers, soccer coaches, entrepreneurs and societal leaders.
Today the club boasts of a dynamic team of executive leaders and technical personnel, formal development systems and policies, and is programmed with a senior team and academy teams in the age categories of U10, U13, U15, U17.
BDU FC has an all-round training and development system which has the following focus areas;
- Football development; whereby nurturing of football players and coaches remains the core of its programmes alongside competitively featuring in FKF organized leagues and national tournaments.
- The use of football to train leadership, life skills, social skills, alcohol and drug-abuse through the LML (Leadership, Mentorship and Life skills) Programme.
